So, even without knowing anything about the product, Japanese people can take one look at this package and immediately think, “Oh, this is probably meant to go with alcohol!” 😆

Inside are five individually wrapped bags.

Note: What Is a Noren?

A Noren is a cloth curtain hung at the entrance of a shop or used as a room divider.
When used at a shop entrance, it can display the name of the establishment like a sign, or indicate that the shop is open.
The red Noren shown on the Wagaya no Teppan package is commonly associated with drinking establishments, so when Japanese people see it, they immediately think of alcohol 🍺

Here’s a closer look at each one:

① Nori Shio (Seaweed & Salt)A salty flavor that brings out the aroma of nori, with a thin, crispy texture. There’s more of this one than any of the others.
② Ebi (Shrimp)A sweet, crispy rice snack with a delicious aroma of shrimp 🦐
③ Ume (Japanese Plum)A fried rice snack with a refreshing tangy ume flavor.
④ Kuro Mame (Black Soybean)A sweet-and-salty soy sauce flavor with black soybeans mixed in. It has a more substantial crunch than the others.
⑤ Ika (Squid)A fried rice snack with a subtle squid flavor. The squid shape is a fun little touch! 🦑
⑥ CheeseA sweet-and-salty soy sauce flavor topped with mellow cheese—the perfect balance of crispy texture and mild, creamy cheese 🧀
⑦ Ika Mame (Squid & Bean)Super crispy, with the sweetness of the beans spreading with every bite 😋

See how much variety there is in both flavor and texture! When you alternate between them, you never get bored, and they really make you want to keep drinking beer 🍺
