If someone asked me, “Which supermarket Senbei (Japan’s Savory Umami Rice Snacks) has the cutest shape?” I would definitely answer, “Hoshitabeyo.”
Most senbei are round, with the occasional oblong shapes like Happy Turn or Bakauke. However, Hoshitabeyo is uniquely shaped like a star! ⭐️
While Hoshitabeyo comes in both regular and mini sizes, today I’ll be reviewing “PokéPeace Chiisana Hoshitabeyo” (PokéPeace Mini Star Crackers).

The irregular star shapes are a nice touch—they look like the natural twinkling of real stars ✨
The saltiness is very mild, allowing you to really enjoy the flavor of the rice itself.
It’s a great snack for both small children and adults who are conscious of their salt intake 👍
And here is the cross section. The texture is that of a crispy soft senbei.
Compared to Happy Turn, which is also a soft senbei, these have a heartier crunch. Since they are bite-sized, this crunchier texture feels just right 👍
