Although this is a dedicated Senbei (Japan’s Savory Umami Rice Snacks) site, just like with the Takashimaya Valentine’s event, I just can’t resist the urge to share beautiful, limited-edition sweets when I find them! 😆
So today, I’ve decided to showcase a bunch of Japanese anime and game character Valentine’s treats that I discovered recently. Enjoy!
GUNDAM (ガンダム)
Here is the Gundam chocolate display!

It’s packed with the Gundam universe—featuring Gundam (ガンダム) itself, Amuro (アムロ), the mass-produced Zaku (量産型ザク), Char’s custom Zaku (シャア専用ザク), Haro (ハロ), and even chocolates shaped like the Earth Federation Forces emblem (地球連邦軍エンブレム) 🌏

The photo above was taken in late January, but some products have already sold out!
The Gundam tins feature cool embossed details

The case shaped like the head of Char’s Zaku Ⅱ is particularly eye-catching 👀
It’s the packaging, rather than the chocolate, that’s the highlight!

Pokémon (ポケモン)
I saw some Pokémon chocolates at the Takashimaya event too, but these are from a different collection by Juchheim.
This Poké Ball (モンスターボール) is actually a large Baumkuchen (ring cake) coated in chocolate.

Since Juchheim is famous for their Baumkuchen, you just know it’s going to be delicious! 😋
The Pikachu biscuits are also super cute and look tasty! I love the illustration on the tin—Pikachu stuffing its face with cookies is just adorable 🤭💕

Lastly, here’s a chocolate crunch tin from another brand.

It’s covered with popular characters like Piplup (ポッチャマ), Charmander (ヒトカゲ), Gengar (ゲンガー), Chikorita (チコリータ), and Jigglypuff (プリン) all over the sides!
Kirby (カービィ)
The Kirby chocolates feature a pastel color palette and a very fancy, dreamy vibe 🎀

No “black hole” vibes to be found here! 😆

ONE PIECE (ワンピース)
This is a tote bag set featuring Luffy (ルフィ), Bonney (ボニー), and other characters.
It even comes with a collectible pin badge! Inside, you’ll find some handy cube-shaped chocolates.

Dragon Ball (ドラゴンボール)
These are tiny Dragon Ball chocolates. Now that all seven are here! What would you wish for from Shenron? 🐉

You can also see the “Senzu Bean (仙豆)” jar behind the Dragon Ball in the photo above.
Inside the jar is a green chocolate that looks just like the legendary bean. The attention to detail is impressive! ✨

And here are the Dragon Ball-shaped tins (filled with chocolate crunch) 🌟 These are from the latest series, “Dragon Ball DAIMA“! Goku (悟空) and Vegeta (ベジータ) look so adorable in their “mini” or child forms on the packaging ☺️

Summary
Character-themed Valentine’s treats put so much effort into their packaging! That Pikachu tin stuffing its face with cookies is definitely a keepsake for life! ☺️💕
You can find the items featured today at large lifestyle stores like Hands, or at special Valentine’s sections in large supermarkets. I hope you find your favorite “must-buy” packaging too!
